BackDHG Industries provides consulting services to the Motion Picture and Museum Industries on high altitude pressure suits and spacesuits.
We maintain an extensive database on all pressure suits and spacesuits made to-date. This database contains suit description information, detailed photographic information, suit construction information, and historical use information. In addition to our information database, we also maintain an inventory of high altitude pressure suits and spacesuit examples, which is the largest privately held collection in the U.S. These suit examples are used to provide detailed information for our customers to aid in their film costume fabrication efforts and museum restoration projects. In addition to consulting services, we also perform restoration work on pressure helmets and suits. During restoration, we use the same materials as the part being restored or replaced. Often we can provide new old-stock items, to preserve authenticity. Some of our projects are identified below.
Apollo A2H Spacesuit Restoration
This project is the restoration of a 1963 vintage Development Spacesuit made for the Apollo Program. This suit is one of only two made of this particular model.
2001 Spacesuit Restoration Project
This is a project to restore a spacesuit costume from Stanley Kubrick's masterpiece film 2001 A: Space Odyssey. This is a Showcase Project to demonstrate our capabilities and workmanship quality.
